My "Move" to Twitter

Dear readers/friends,

As quite a few of you have commented on my being AWOL from Lightcone Journal, I feel an explanation is long due :)

To make a long story short, the time commitments of writing long-form have proven excessive given my day-job at Machan Capital. I’ve found micro-blogging on twitter much more do-able and have switched entirely to that format. An added advantage is that micro-blogging is a better way to capture market factors.

Omicron doesn’t look less (or more) severe at least looking at data from the Johannesburg-Pretoria (Gauteng) area where 90% cases are Omicron / from @EricTopol. The “less severe” argument seems a long shot, despite some intriguing initial data.

P-hacking is a real problem. Not so much for hedge funds because they are inherently risky vehicles, but for bread-and-butter investments offered to the general public and institutions. Beware commoditized strategies (like risk premia!). @camharvey in FT: ft.com/content/902539…
